Watching our parents grow older is a challenging and heart-wrenching part of life. This is the hardest fact, we all face it sooner or later.

We all know that aging is a subtle and quiet process. Meanwhile, we didn't even realize when we grow as an adult and when our parents grow old.

Losing a parent is part of life. Watching the mother and father who gave us life, grow old, and pass away. It's very sad and hard to think.

I have seen my father in his last days of life. How day by day he was going away from us, and we were just helpless. I was very worried that I may lose him.

I'm thankful to God who allowed me to be with him during those days.

When I was a kid my smile used to bring a smile to his face, I was exactly like a princess to him. It was very painful to see dad bedridden.

Now my dad is no more. My mom is living independently. Watching mom slow down as she is getting older, made me think that someday I will lose her also, this thought rips off me a lot.

I daily try to visit her place and try to spend quality time with her. Mom has gone through a lot of struggle and pain while raising us. She was also in a job. Many times her job was at the places where she had to walk for hours on foot. Those days there was no maid culture, she used to look after the home and workplace equally with full dedication.

Still, at this age when I'm running 55, she worried about me and my brother. When she sacrificed her entire life on us, needn't we give her a few beautiful years?

Yes, we can!

And we will!

When the glowing face of a young lady, turned full of cute wrinkles and when used to stand erect like a pillar, she began to walk slightly with a limp being arthritis patient, just happened in front of me and I didn't even feel. Meanwhile, she turned 50, 60, and now she is above 80. Thank God, at this age, despite a few ailments, she is still very smart and active.

During the lockdown period, I and my husband couldn't leave her alone, spent more than one month with her, at her place. She is grateful for all that we have done and has made it a priority to be with her. I sometimes catch her looking at me with love, pride, and gratitude.

I can’t imagine my life without my mom. She just needs love and company, nothing else. I'm thankful to God who is always with me and made me capable to do so.

I had a great childhood with my parents. I think the same is for the majority of us. Parents never complain this is our responsibility to hold them when they need us the most.

Let’s all make an effort to spend quality time with them, express our love, respect, care, and concern. After all, parents are the foundation of our life.

The only source of unconditional and purest love in this universe.
