"Get up darling, it's already six."

Well, I guess all of us get up from this melodious tone of our mother after continuously ditching our alarm.

.

"Now it's eleven, sweetheart. Are you willing to do your breakfast now? Because I think that you will even skip your brunch and directly hit the lunch."

This is the happiest leap caused by the summer vacations. As much as I love the summers, they are too lazy to be worked on.

Being a high school student, who wakes up at six in the morning and straightens her back around seven in the evening, I guess that vacations are the best part of the year.

.

Away from the hustle-bustle of a continuously working city where one doesn't even get to know the difference between day and night; where one thinks of only work and work; where the people are more worried about what to do tomorrow rather than thinking of today, we four packed our bags and landed in Goa, our uncle's place.

Even the night there seemed so calming. The stars as if swinging with their glitters. The moon chasing us through the coconut trees.

The Beatles singing along with the waves.

"Here we go," dad says. We are greeted by our uncle's family at their door.

Dude, these village people surely have warmness in their welcome. Our uncle's house was in the outer Goa which was type-type of a village.

Instead of those mind-goggling horns, the sweet chirping of the birds broke my sleep. It was followed by the bells ringing at the temples. As I came out, the sun peeked through aside as if too shy to show its presence. I never wake up this early-- Yes it was five in the morning.

If I would be at my place, I would surely go back to bed, stretch my blanket up to my forehead, and go to sleep again.

I stood at the verandah. It was as if the morning sunbeams were calling me. I touched the leaves, they were dewy. But only pure water droplets were on them, no pollution or dust mixed. It was as if someone has placed pearls on these leaves which appeared so delicate that if touched would surely break into pieces.

The chants from the mosque soothed the atmosphere.

As I walked along the beach, perfect round coconut hung from beautiful tall pillars. They were the chandeliers placed under green leaves, hugging tightly the trees' trunk.

After our evening tea, our family preferred to sit on their lawn and enjoy a barbeque. I also ask them for the special fruit drink which they gave us when we arrived. Will you believe me that it was even better than any other five-star hotel? And it's just too intoxicating- mixed with eye-catching color; adds more elation to it.

Again when I was walking along the beach, I stopped.

I turned to face the beach.

That day I realized why do people die to visit Goa.

I got to know what attracts foreigners here.

I got to know why do people just lie at the beach at relaxing.

I got to know what does the term sunset means.

I got to know the true meaning of a beautiful niche.

I stood there, my hair gently moving with air and my floral skirt swaying with the breeze. The ocean water was too calm at my feet that even my feet dug in the wet sand every time the water hit the shore. The ocean waves were agreeing with the wind. Gently moving with it but crashing at the coast, making the sand numb.

The serenity of the beach water soothed me.

The sun, so gently- then artistically- kissed the ocean and then gradually vanished into the water. Now, the birds' chirping was the alarm if the sun went down.

Such a delicate act of tenderness.

The rest of our vacation there went too well. But then also the best part of my day was the beach.

Today also, every night when I lay on my bed, I let the image of that serene atmosphere flash by like memory because it is the one that comforts me and sends me to nod off.
