One of my favorite quotes from the book The Alchemist is ”People are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of.” The Alchemist is a bestseller book written by Paulo Coelho. This book is a must-read for everyone. Even a first-time reader can read this book due to the simplicity of language and style. The storyline of this book is about the journey of a boy Santiago who ventures out of his home to fulfill his destiny. It's a story of hope, dreams, life, love, faith, and belief. Often women forget their dreams, passions, hobbies, and desires while fulfilling their duties as wives, mothers, and daughter-in-law. This quote is a reminder to all the amazing women out there to believe in themselves. It's never too late to fulfill your dream.

At the time of marriage, I was a practicing criminal lawyer in the Mumbai High Court. I worked very hard to grow as a lawyer. Sometimes I used to work all 7 days of the week. In the 2 years of my practice, I took only 2 weeks' holiday. Although it was just the start of my career, it was difficult for me to quit. When I got married, I had to say goodbye to my criminal lawyer self as my husband loved in Oman. After moving to Oman, I worked in an American law firm. The work profile involved Court cases but not Court appearances. I missed my criminal law practice a lot. Despite working in Oman for 4 years, I was never satisfied. Then I quit and became a blogger. That was the beginning of another dream.

Writing gives me the space to be whatever I want. Especially after becoming a mother, it was so important for me to write. It gave my feelings an expression. Storytelling was an art that I have always enjoyed. Same thing for poetry. When I began my journey as a blogger, I did not have enough audience but today I am one of the top 100 bloggers of Momspresso. I have also one the Top Blogger Award at www.fuzia.com. If I would have given up on my dream, would I be where I am today?

Life had different plans for my family. We recently moved back to India. Destiny has once again presented me with the opportunity to start my legal career where I left it 8 years ago. 8 years is a long time to have missed in the Courts. A lot has changed. I have several challenges standing in front of me. Questions such as how will I strike a balance between my career and my family bother me. But as Paulo Coelho rightly said that we are capable of living our dreams at any point of time in our lives. With this quote in mind, I have decided to give my dreams one more shot. We live only once so why not live fully!

My question to all the mommies reading my blog is that will you take a leap of faith to fulfill your dreams while carrying out your roles as mothers and wives? Please share your answer in the comments below.
