Mafia

The gun was pointed at John's head. He was one of the city's best lawyers. He was offered a big bribe by the mafia but he was an honest man and declined so they kidnapped him the next day. He was regretting the decision now when his life was in danger. He was scared for his life and family.

There were two men sitting beside him and in the front row of the car, there was the car driver and one more man in the co-passenger seat. The men were dressed in black suits. John did not know where he was being taken.

The car stopped in front of a 5 storey building. The men pulled out John while still aiming the gun at him and shoved him in the elevator and pressed the fourth-floor button. The elevator stopped and he was lead to an apartment. The door was opened by one of the men. John saw a man sitting in a chair with a empty chair in front of him. John was made to sit down there in front of the man.

"Every man has a price Mr Wilson, I just want you to name yours." said the man. John was scared and knew if he did not accept the price he would be killed. He mumbled "250,000 dollars". The man replied " You are a costly man John but, you will have your money. Instead, I only ask you to stop fighting the case against Mr Corleone's men." John quietly mumbled yes and he was dropped off to his home in the next 5 minutes.

John was standing in court the next day. He fought the case with all his skill. At the end of the hearing, the judge sentenced the accused to 10 years in jail. He was congratulated by everyone in the court. John was given special police security as the head of the police felt that his life was in danger after the decision. John felt good after the decision and actually felt safe with his security. He went to his car and drove towards home.

He found some more security outside his house when he reached home. He parked his car and got out of it. He started walking towards his house and opened the door. His son and wife were tied to different chairs, his security then aimed their guns at him. One of them said," Mr Corleone sends his greetings".

The next morning the city's newspaper had the headline: " Prominent lawyer found dead with family".

A man reading the newspaper laughed and thought to himself, " The mafia never forgives or forgets".
