Lesson of Life

Hello everyone my name is Rajesh. I am 26th years old. From childhood only I want to live a life as I want to live, and my father helps me a lot. He asked me to choose any stream which I like. I like this mindset of my father otherwise many of the parents force their children to take the stream which their parents want to. My father was a CEO of a company and he wants me to work there, so the tension of the job was not there. One day after the completion of my MBA I was watching TV and my father came and said to me that “see Rajesh, now you are done with your MBA and I have made you grown up as I wanted to be grown up in my childhood, but my father very strict, he didn’t want to grow up me as I wanted. I have given you all the freedom that you wanted to do but in a good manner. So from tomorrow, you have to live as I want to. From tomorrow you have to take a break from studies, family, and friends, etc. Go for a solo ride and feel the nature in your way”

Rajesh- “But dad”

Rajesh’s father-“I don’t want to listen to anything! You have to go means go!”

Rajesh –“ok dad! I accept it”

Rajesh dad-(smiling) “quickly be ready my son”

AND THE LESSON OF LIFE STARTED

My father asked me to visit the only kasol and asked me to give a different profile in Kasol. I packed my bag with all the necessary items and started the journey on 15 August 2008. I thought this ride would be a complete wastage of petrol but I was wrong. So the first destination was Kasol, Himachal Pradesh. It was a small village located on the banks of River Parvati in Himachal Pradesh. The distance from New Delhi to Kasol was 584 km, and the duration of the ride was 13 hours. Definitely, it would be a challenging ride. Keeping positive thinking I started the ride. Going through the highway without any obstacle. After riding for 4 hours I took a lunch break. Then I saw a boy working in the hotel, his age was around 12 years.

I asked him “This is the age of only studying, why you are working here?”

He replied “There is no one in my family to earn, so I have to work here to get 100RS per day”

Listening to this I was very shocked, I understand there must be some need for that he had to work, but at this age! I gave him 2000 RS and that smile from him make my heart totally melted. With that satisfaction, I started my ride again. In this 13 hours ride, I had taken 4 breaks. Now the final 2 hours are left to reach the destination. One and a half-hour passed and I just entered kasol. It was a paradise for nature and adventure lovers. Kasol was giving me a pure rural vibe, and the place was awesome. I quickly search for the spot where I would fit the tent house. I found a place near the pond and fit the tent there. With me many others who were enjoying the view, suddenly I found a dairy which was given by my dad.

He wrote that “Write here what have you learn from the trip” I quickly take out the pen and wrote the first point “Helping others should be first priority for all, we know that we can’t help him/her as they want but we can help them with a small faith”

My aim was to get the 3 most important things in life and I have just got one of them. It was night and I was cooking for dinner, suddenly one of the strangers who were beside tents gave me some food. Then I was fully confirmed with my first point. They asked about me and as my father told me I gave a different profile. I created a good bond with their team and thought of being a part of their team for the trip. The next day we all move around all the places of kasol. About a 15 minutes drive from Kasol, we reached Manikaran Gurudwara. It is one of the important pilgrimage locations for Hindus and Sikhs. There are also various other temples in the vicinity of Gurudwara. There all the Sikhs were cleaning the temple and serving the food. I also helped them to clean the inside the temple, polished others' shoes, and served food to others. I enjoyed it a lot to help them.

Like this, that day also passed very quickly. Now we all were talking and laughing with jokes in front of a bonfire. Suddenly I thought about the dairy and quickly went to my tent and wrote: “If a person had a clean heart and willing to enjoy for serving the nature is the real man of the society”.

Now only the last point left, and I was also very excited about the point. Suddenly I was Subhash one of the member of our team, he was sitting alone. I went there and talked to him, he was crying. By listening to the reason I felt so bad for him, the reason was- He loves a girl who was of another religion and his parents were not accepting their love so they decided to leave his house and start a new life. All was going right they started to live in a rented house he got a job and everything was in his way but one day returning after the job he found a letter and his wife was not there. She wrote that she loved another guy and she couldn’t live without him so she left the house. He was speechless, I was in a depression and decided to go back home. Returning back home he found his home was locked, so he went to the neighborhood to ask about his parents. And the neighbor insulted him a lot and said that “After you leave the house your parents were 2 days out to find you, but they can’t able to find you. While returning they had an accident and both died. You are only the one who killed your parents”. He was totally broken-hearted.

Subhash-“I don’t know when I will die so I came here to release my depression”

From this, I got two points of life one was “Never forget two-person in your life ‘Father’ the person who lost everything just to make you win and your ‘Mother’ the person who was with you in every pain”

And another one was “Everything is temporary, whether its love or life”

Tomorrow I left for my home and after 13 hours I reached. My father only asked me one thing “Give me the dairy” I gave him the dairy. My father saw the points and clapped in my shoulder and said that “Congrats son! You have finally learned the lesson of life”
