Last "Date"

His heart was beating fast as usual as he sat waiting for her in that swanky restaurant. As he started thinking about past few years, he realized time just flew by. He remembered when he saw her the first time and felt something in his heart. That time he didn't know what did it mean. As time moved on, he has many interactions with her and he started to realize the intensity of his feelings for her. He never dared to tell her about those things and tried to suppress them inside his heart. As time further progressed, his feelings grew, now his heart will race in her presence, he would start sweating on his forehead, he would dream about her day and night. Few minutes meeting with her will give him like heavenly pleasure. I guess she started to realize his feeling just by looks in his eyes and may be his uncomfortable behavior around her. He would just wait endlessly everyday just to have a glimpse of her. Of course, she would never reciprocate similar feelings. Time has progressed and the day has arrived when she announced her departure. He felt so sad and happy at the same time. Sad because he loved her and had a huge crush on her. Happy because once she leaves, he will also move on.

Somehow he gathered his courage and asked her for the first and last "Date". She hesitated for few days and finally agreed. Now sitting in that luxurious restaurant, he was still not sure that she will make an appearance. Finally, there was she, coming with a friend. He somehow suspected she won't come alone. He welcomed her and ordered food. As the dinner progressed, he couldn't say anything about his feelings as usual, just the regular office talk. He knew that he wouldn't be able to say anything like that and then he already brought two written notes from home. First one was about expressing his feelings towards her and the second one was just the regular office kind of send of note that we will miss you and that. Finally, he could only take out the regular office note and read it to her. She smiled and said thank you. He tried to capture her image for the last time in his mental camera for preserving nice memories. He would think that she should never leave and "Date" would go on forever. But alas, good things have to end. She said goodbye and left forever. He sat there and cried a lot. I guess he knew the kind of ending to the story. The last "Date" that he would remember all his life and cherish the memories of it forever.
