Dream Girl

One of these foggy mornings, he was just surfing around on Facebook and he saw her picture. He clicked on it and explored. She had exactly the same facial features, although overall she was looking much chubbier now. While he was looking at her face, memories just started flowing like a water. He went on digging the memory files in his brain stored like almost 30 years back. He could see now the live memories. He and his close friend used to ride a bicycle to the college. Those times were different. The atmosphere in college was very much conservative. Boys and girls seating separately in the classroom. They were talking to each other only for academic things. That time, when he first saw her, he was totally lost. She had nice blue eyes and a nice little smile on her lips. Its like lips are spread just a little bit more to give a feeling of a smile. Since the day he saw her, he used to think all the time about her only. The funny thing is, his friend also used to think about her all the time. I guess most of the class were, maybe thinking about her all the time those days. She used to wear her typical frocks or dress which we knew by heart at that time. Was it just the hormones playing the role that time or something more than that?

She also used to ride her bicycle to the college. Halfway to the college, there was a road crossing where she used to reach a specific time and then ride to the college. He and his friend used to adjust the timing of starting from home so that they can reach at that crossing spot at the same time as hers and then follow her to the college. I guess eventually she understood that these guys do this, but she kind of ignored. Because he and his friend never troubled her as such, never even dared to say few words to her face to face, never even said hello!! It was just like one-sided love or should we call it "crush"!!! He and his friend used to talk about her beauty and looks all the time. His friend was more open to say his feelings about her, however, he never disclosed his feelings about her openly to anybody. They were so crazy about her that during holidays or vacations, they used to ride bicycles to the lane of the area where she used to live, just to check out if they can have a glimpse of her. Although unfortunately, they never could see her sitting in her home porch or walking around shopping for something.

As always happens, college ended one day and all have moved on. He and his friend moved to another city for pursuing engineering. They heard she moved to some city for pursuing Ayurveda degree. As time progressed, they never saw her anywhere and hence discussions about her stopped. But still, in their hearts and brain, they used to always cherish her memories. They graduated and started working. One day at a relaxed moment, they talked about the college memories and talked about her. He teased his friend that she may have been married already now with somebody else. His friend said, he would never forget her and if something bad happens in her marriage and she comes to him for help, he will not hesitate at all and accept her with open arms and would help in all possible ways. He was amused at his confidence.

One day something happened. His friend had planned to travel to another city by luxury bus and hence went to the bus stand to catch the bus. He saw her there waiting for the same bus accompanied by her brother. Her brother knew that we were her classmates at the time of college because he was also a student of the same college. Her brother saw his friend and he asked whether he is also going to the hometown. As his friend and she were going to the same place, her brother requested him to let them adjust the seat so that they can sit nearby. Her brother requested him to take care of her till she reaches the bus stand of the town they were going as it was the night journey. As his friend remembers the things, they sat nearby and chitchatted for a long time, and then she slept. While sleeping peacefully she kept her head on his shoulder. His friend just couldn't sleep all night as his dream girl was sitting there next to him. As usual, he couldn't muster enough courage to tell her his real feelings. They reached home in the morning, never to see each other again in life. His friend says those were the most precious moments in his life and he will cherish those until its the end of the world for him.

As he remembered these things, he always wondered, was it just a crush or real love feelings for him and his friend. Now in her picture, she looked happily married with kids. He always wonders if he will get a chance to talk to the dream girl like his friend got.
