An old man lay on the street, lifeless. People around came running to help him out but in vain. The water they wanted him to drink came out of the mouth indicating that the old man had breathed his last.

Down came trembling, the Laddoo, from his pocket. The onlookers put it back and tried to call the phone numbers that were written in the small pocket out of the old man's pocket. The first number was engaged. The second number, the old man's son's, said he would immediately come to the deceased place.

No sooner did the son arrive, the passersby moved away. The old man's son along with the help of others took his father by auto to his house. The old man's wife was speechless and started crying uncontrollably.

All the relatives started coming to the old man's house and paid their respect. Lastly, came his daughter who was dumbstruck and threw herself on the old man's dead body. With the force that she fell on her dad's body, down came trembling Laddoo from the old man's pocket. She cried unstoppably. She never expected this.

As she was the only one pampered daughter to this old man and loved eating sweets, especially Laddoo, made during marriages, the old man made sure that whenever he would attend any marriages, though he liked laddoo like his daughter, he would save it for his darling daughter by wrapping it in a handkerchief and kept safely in his pocket till it would reach his daughter's hand. This was the practice he followed till she was married and slowly the daughter forgot about it.

The daughter's eyes were moist when she remembered all of the above and grabbed the Laddoo by her hand and started eating it as if people would snatch the Laddoo away from her!!! Little did they know that the daughter ate it as she did not want to share her father's last but precious gift of Laddoo with anyone else.
