Kabir Das ka Doha

Kabir Das ka Doha

Dear Diary,

You never know in which way life teaches you important and priceless lessons of life. One similar experience happened today morning. My father and I were sitting on the roof top to enjoy early morning time. While I was lost in watching surroundings, he was busy fixing our wood stove and was also humming a song with a smile. After googling those catchy lines, I got to know that it was one of Kabir's doha which says,

"Maati kahe Kumhaar se, Tu kya ronde moy,

ek din aisa aayega, main raundungi toy"

The meaning of this doha is "Soil says to pot maker that you are kneading me with your feet today. There will be a day when you will be below me and I will knead you".

This might not be something new to hear but I was astound with the way it was phrased. The thought which came immediately to my mind was that, as a human being, we think we are superior but actually nature is supreme. There is a power which is beyond our understanding and reach. In the end, the body that we feel proud of will get lost in this soil and we will be remembered only with the deeds that we have done between our birth and death.

This way the day started with a powerful and an astonishing message.
