Seasonal Fruits

Seasonal Fruits

Dear Diary,

"Come come, here here," I tried to call one of our pet birds to eat the mango slice.

"They may not like it," my husband said.

"They do. I read on internet that they like seasonal fruits," I replied with confidence.

As I finished my sentence, one of the bird came, held the piece in its feet and started eating. It was a peaceful moment to watch a nature's creation.

I got silent for a minute as I kept looking it eating.

"Last week when I offered apple slice, none of them ate. I did not know the reason so I searched on internet and studied their behaviour. All the birds still follow nature's rule of eating right and also at right time," I explained while continuously watching the bird.

"How strange it is. There was a time when we used to wait for winters so that we can eat oranges, apple, grapes etc and same for summer to eat mangoes especially. There was a different level of happiness when we used to eat them after a long wait. And now, you go any fruit shop, you have all fruits lined up. Nothing tempts us now," My husband looked unhappy with the way world is going.

"I can understand your feelings. I have same disappointment and dissatisfaction. The childhood feelings have gone somehow," I joined him in agreement.

"True. I think this behaviour is also one of the reason for our untimely sickness and less immunity," He continued.

"Absolutely. Let's try to avoid as much we can and get ourselves reminded of our old living from these birds," I looked at him.

We both smiled and got silent for a while to absorb the thoughts we just discussed.
