In Search of her Glimpse

It was my first day on the work floor after a week of training. All of my batchmates were placed simultaneously with a senior agent. It was a call center floor of 200 employees in a busy mid-day. I was placed beside a senior mate and opposite row to me there was a glimpse of an angel. Her name was...Her name was no I can't reveal but she exists in the real world. I was busy on that day going through the training session, listening to the calls, and taking a few calls and everything seemed good. The next day I was very excited to go to the office, it was the same excitement I had when I was in my college days. I went to work with a smile on my face and excitement in my heart and my search began for her glimpse. She was a tall skinny fare looking girl of 20, with a good sense of humor and a little introverted to strangers. It was after the lockdown period in march 2021 when I started working there and there was a lot of work pressure in that office. But luckily I got very friendly colleagues, with whom I never felt alone. Despite the long extended work hours due to covid, we still managed to have lunch together and chitchat during free breaks. And also I had my office crush opposite my desk to keep me motivated. I started staring at her randomly every day. It feels more than heaven to stare at her. I tried to approach her but a few of my colleagues were also trying to impress her. We had random eye contact during lunch hours. I wanted to spend some time with her but I was an extreme introvert when it comes to my crush. Keeping Breaks when she was on break, doing flames, getting shy when friends were taking her name, feeling like heaven when our names were placed in a sequence one after other on employee scoreboards, and a few other little things that made me happy even during the covid crises. When the world was in depression I was in heaven. After a lot of struggles, I made it.

Yes, I had a small conversation with her. It was 2 weeks after my joining and to my surprise, we both meet coincidentally in the lift for just 60 seconds we were together. From the fourth floor to the ground floor where lift stopped at each floor due to some sarcastic employee willingly pressing the stop button on each floor while leaving the office. I was very thankful to him on that day. I told her I was a fresher and newbie in this office, she gave a decent smile with shyness. Then I asked how is the office work culture, salary dates, etc. She replied with a decent smile and she motivated me with some warm answers. The lift got opened and I tried to walk alongside her but my father-in-law was waiting outside the office, I mean her father was waiting for her. I could get a chance to speak to her as her father was very strict person with a tall height. He took good care of her, picked up her on time, and dropped her off on time. I heard from my friends that she had a boyfriend that's why her father was so strict with her. And then the lockdown got announced the next day.

My bad luck it was the last day I spoke to her and it was the first day I spoke to her. After 2 months of working from home, I was in hurry to go to the office. It was like hell at home to work like a robot for 9 hours inside my room. Without my friends I get depressed easily, it was a good experience for a few weeks as I had the freedom at home to watch movies and listen to music on the go while working. It feels so precious to work at that time when everyone is struggling for food and employment in the lockdown. I was an independent 20-year-old boy working hard in my home. I received extra respect from my college friends, neighbours, and my parents. As I started feeling depressed I shifted back to work from the office. She was still in WFH mode. During WFH mode every day we had zoom meetings and google meetings. I use to attend them just to listen to her as she was on my team. It was a bad day that day when she came to the office to return her system and reassign the job. Yes, my bad faith she left the job when I needed her the most. Even I lost interest in work and after a few days, I reassigned that job to start my career as a web developer. I tried to contact her on insta but she denied my request thrice. She still had a special place in my heart. I know I had a huge crush on my classmate in my college days but the girl and her glimpse in my office made me forget my unforgettable past and made another unforgettable past. A boy from rejection to a boy with bad luck. True love is one that has a sad end.

I was the lucky one to have her as a part of my life in the hardest times. Yes, angels do exist on the land !!!!.
