If you are worth it...

The King was old and in bed. The royal physicians advised that he will need a complete rest and would be better if he get off the throne and hand it over to his successors. The king didn't want to hand over the royal position randomly to one of his sons. He wished to set up a few tests and challenges. The one who would qualify for all those tests was decided to become the next king. 

The first was sent to look after the well-being of the kingdom... And the condition of the people living in it. He came back and said that everything was good. 

The second prince too gave the same answer. 

But the third came back and started saying every minute thing happening in and around the kingdom. He explained the condition of the people, the crop, their work, and every minute detail. 

He also explained that there is going to be a war soon as the spy is from the next kingdom are roaming around.

Listening to all this... The king smiled and said "The sword shall be thine, my son... Not only because you won this test... But because you are worth it and you earn it"

Everyone in the kingdom shouted

"Long live the king... Long live the kingdom!!"
