Hostel Life Lessons
Hostel Life Lessons

Ever thought about where you truly learned life's lessons?
As I sat contemplating a survey question that asked this very thing, an unexpected flood of memories surged through my mind. Oddly enough, it was my hostel during my undergraduate years in the early 2000s.
Back then, the hostel wasn't just a place to crash after classes; it was an entire world bustling with life. Day scholars were a rare sight, creating an environment where interactions with peers from diverse backgrounds became the norm.
Do you ever feel like you're the best at everything until you meet others?
That's what happened to me when I encountered a league where talents varied, perspectives diverged, and strengths were diverse.
Ever wondered about price changes over time?
We did that with a case study on sanitary napkins!
Have you witnessed dreams taking shape?
Indeed, during our hostel days, we observed aspiring teachers, budding entrepreneurs, inspiring mentors, talented actors, and a myriad of other ambitions in their nascent stages, shaping into formidable dreams right before our eyes.
Whenever life throws a curveball or I find myself in a slump, revisiting those hostel days or reconnecting with friends from that time acts as a remedy. The memories and experiences gathered there remain a source of strength and inspiration.
Reflecting on it now, I realize that the hostel wasn't just a temporary residence; it was a life academy that equipped me with essential life skills. It taught me adaptability, empathy, resilience, and the art of thriving in diverse environments. Hostel life, with all its ups and downs, was a profound and wonderful experience—a preparatory phase for the complexities of the future.
