Gentle Reminder
Gentle Reminder
Suman, are you alright? Saurabh called her as he does every day after he comes back from Office. By the way, Suman was staying in another City since the Virus struck followed by the lockdown. She had to go to another city as her children returned from their campuses due to lockdown. She was somehow managing household chores without any maid's help and she could not even disturb her children for they were busy with their academic sessions online you see. But you might be wondering why Saurabh was so concerned about it.The matter was Suman was under severe medication for a year due to some medical issue. Saurabh informed Suman that he would be visiting them on a short vacation as he too was busy with his projects. She and her children were pleased to hear this. Saurabh would definitely take Suman to the doctor to review her medical condition that she knew for sure.
Saurabh travels by Car to that place and relaxes for a couple of days. He too feels fresh and energetic meeting his kids and wife after quite some time. Suman prepares nutritious food with a lot of affection. For the coming week, Saurabh booked an appointment with the doctor who was treating Suman. So, they go to the doctor on the said day. They were asked to wait for their turn. Suman and Saurabh sat in the lounge waiting for their turn. Suddenly Suman notices Someone tugging at her dupatta, Suman is annoyed and the next moment she is delighted to find a cute little girl who was a doll. Next moment Suman is shocked on listening to what the girl said. The little girl was questioning Suman and Saurabh did you wash your hands, do you have a sanitizer with you, and why are not maintaining 6 feet of distance from each other? Shocked and perplexed Suman realizes what the pandemic has done to young kids who seemed to have become so used to all these terms because they usually got to hear these words very frequently for the past few months. Even though they do not know the meaning of what they are saying in the real sense they do repeat this day in and day out. Maybe even during school hours (online classes) and while watching television and playing games that mostly nowadays is on a tablet or mobile. This is the bitter truth.
