Dreams To Die For

DREAM a five letter word which beholds the enthusiasm and gives the strength to someone who inspite of repeated failures goes for one more try and achieves his/her dream which he/she aspired for. Dream give us a 'goal to run for' 'a motive to live for' and the 'energy that keep us in dynamic state'. Else you,I,or someone else may be found lying as still as dead man's chest showing a flat ECG

I would like to narrate a story regarding a boy who literally gave a meaning to the title '"Dream to die for"' The boy in his early childhood saw several dreams as we all usually see. The boy dreamt of becoming a pilot and then the very next moment dreamt of becoming a chief officer in archaeology department. Hey! readers!! did u notice the range of his dream from atmospheric level to lithospheric level. How childish!! Well, when he was in 9th standard,his sister suffered from a mental disorder which not only made her mentally unstable but also brought a quake to her family. The whole family got so tensed and worried that everyone was clueless and became hopeless. Then they approached a doctor and with time slowly but steadily that doctor cured her and brought her back into the mainstream life and this created the first impact on that boy's fresh mind. He started admiring doctor and started to research over this profession,studied articles related to this profession. So finally he decided out of such several dreams to become a doctor because it it was the doctor who from nowhere brought his sister back to normal life,gave his family a reason to smile again and a direction to his dream.

The only hurdle in the way of becoming a doctor was the medical entrance exam but he failed miserably. As his dream demanded more from him he got up and backed himself for 1st drop. While going through this duration of one year drop,the boy was confined to very small room,used to study for his dream while others were asleep and actually dreaming because he was inspired from one of the greatest scientist honourable Dr.APJ Abdul kalam's quote"'Dream is not what you see in sleep it is the thing which does not let you sleep"' and moreover inspite of loud music being played in the surrounding he kept studying,however several times he requested to his hostelmates to lower the sound as a result of which sometime it got accepted and sometime got denied but he kept preparing silently. This profession demanded some qualities from that boy and they were patience,perseverance,discipline,self belief,determination and courage while making decision. Believe me!!; with time along with his core academic syllabus he was also able to get hold on these lessons that this profession wanted to teach but he failed again academic wise.

However the desire to achieve the dream was so strong and intense that he didn't stop there and again stood up for a 2nd try. The boy braced himself, cleared his watery eyes and double intensified the pursuit of achieving the dream. He got himself room centered in his hostel ,used to do relentless hardwork,his other mates went for hangout,movies etc but this did not distracted him as he had trained his mind for disciplined routine life,slept only for 4-5 hours to which his eyes pleaded for 'Mercy!Mercy!' and on denial of plea in anger became as red as cherry.(the boy's eyes appeared red to which he got the advice of consulting a doctor from teachers but only he knew the exact reason behind it) The boy got so involved in his studies that quiet often he missed his dinner and at times he used to sleep with an empty stomach and it brought tears to his eyes and made him miss his family a lot but the drop made him bold from inside and taught him how to face challenges ,get rid of home sickness as parental roof was somehow nowhere. Not playing games ,being cut off from social media is what every aspirants does but this boy was onto his toes through out the journey right from the beginning and made sacrifices few of which i have already mentioned and yet more to explore.So every kind-of preparation was done from the boy's side related to exam,he was all set,confident and sat for the entrance exam. It seemed luck was also not in favour of him and once again he missed the golden opportunity of his life by a small margin. His moral went down,got depressed and everything seemed to be over. Suddenly,his personified dream whispered him '"shall we try again" but this failure confronted him with lots of criticism and haunting taunts like "the boy wasted his time and father's money"; people started questioning his talent,hard work and his decision to opt for this field. He was so heartbroken that his desperateness for his dream was on ground level. He cried and tried to convey to people that he tried his best but nobody bothered and showed atleast false sympathy.

Just when he was in a dilemma whether to go for his dream's whisper or end this journey here then only on a random visit to a hospital,he noticed a person begging in front of a white coat man to save his son's life as only he could save him. Few hours later, that person and the entire family thanked the doctor(white coat man). After watching the whole incident the boy concluded that there stands only one man between life and death after god and that is why considered next to god on earth. This concreted his thought of becoming a doctor at any cost.The boy again made up his mind,but this time there was not much family support and also he was warned that only he will be responsible for this decision to which the boy nodded and walked off from home again and finally in his 3rd attempt he got selected and became a doctor and was able to declare that "'I aspired to become a DOCTOR so that I could save many lives,become a reason for someone's smile.Had not been this dream accomplished might be died for it."'Well,unveiling the curtain from suspense ,that boy was none other than myself who is narrating you the story..
