Done Taking Your Shit

“I thought we were best friends. Why would you ever do this to me?” shouted Selena on the top of her voice. “You knew that I liked him from the start still you did not think twice while you made out with the only guy I ever freaking liked?” yelled back Veronica. Veronica fell on her bed crying. Hiccups and wheezing. “What are you crying for you relationship wrecker? Aren’t you happy enough or do you want the sympathy too from everyone especially from Hector?” Selena said in the sassy voice that she had and walked out from Veronica’s room banging the door behind her leaving her to cry.

Veronica and Selena had been best friends for 6 months. They had known each other for more than 2 years though and had been enemies. Both of them were transferred to the same school and thus became best friends for their own conveniences. Veronica had accepted that they had become best friends because they knew only each other in this whole new place and became close. Selena became more popular while Veronica decided to limit her conversations to only a few people. The only guy she had become really close to was Hector.

She and Hector were really good friends and when he had started talking to Selena in a very friendly way then Veronica had realized that she had fallen in love with him. She told Selena about this. The next day Selena kissed Hector in front of Veronica and had said “I am sorry honey! We are dating”. Being the way a good friend that she was she had smiled and congratulated her. When she came back home she had sat in the bathtub for two hours crying. It was like a tornado had come in her life, messed up everything and then gone away. When she had finally moved on the next thing she knew was Selena telling Hector that Veronica had a big huge crush on her and even spread rumors about her. Veronica was sassier and more savage than Selena but showed it less.

Angry on how Selena had tried to ruin her reputation in front of everyone, pissed her off and she went and told Hector anonymously about the other guy Selena had been dating. Today when Hector finally broke up with her she blamed it all on Veronica saying that if she did not have feelings for him this would have not happened. Veronica feeling as guilty as ever took all the blame on herself, lowering her self esteem.

NEXT DAY

All eyes on her Veronica somehow managed to reach her lobby. She thought a lot about what had happened. She knew she had had enough of everyone’s shit. They did not want her to be the nice person she was she won’t be then. “Well, well. If it’s not the relationship destroyer?” someone said from behind her. Selena and her group of friends. “Oh I am sorry. But I wasn’t the one who was cheating her own boyfriend", replied back veronica. She felt her cheeks burn. She had never in her entire life been able to reply back this way to anyone.

Selena looked taken aback and all she could do was show her a mean face a walked away. But Veronica wasn’t done. She laughed out loudly and said “That’s all you got huh? If it is really my fault you should have been able to say something in your defense”

Selena spun around and glared at her. “I never wanted to be your friend” Selena said walking up to Veronica’s face as if she would punch her. They were surrounded by almost more than 30 people.

“You never wanted to be my friend? Oh excuse me you should pity me that I had to put up with you like we were best friends for so long. And as for the record when you came to know that I liked Hector. No, no let me rephrase that. When you came to know that I really really like Hector unlike you, you became jealous of me and made out with him.”

“If he did not like you like that how is that my fault?”

“Then why did you date him even in the first place if you did not really like him? Just so you could show how more popular you were and how everyone liked you?”

Selena shook her head as if saying I am the cool one or I know better than you do and said “Honey what do you know about relationships? Or popularity?”

“Well at least I know about real relationships and-”

“Whoa,whoa, whoa. What’s going on here? Are you guys fighting about what happened?” Hector said pointing towards both of them. And then looked at Selena and said “I already said its over why don’t you just move on and leave me alone?”

“What are you serious? We dated for 2 months”

“ No Selena I dated you for 2 months. You were just playing around. Now come on Veronica lets go” he said taking Veronica’s hand. She shrugged him off. “No Hector I am done with all this I don’t really want to talk to any of you now” Veronica said and walked away with almost 90 eyes watching her go. Some of them even clapped. Veronica felt as if she had finally done some justice in her life by doing this.
