BEHIND THE DOOR

There was once a boy by the name of William. He was a teenager aged 17 who lived with his family. William had a number of friends, male and female.

William made his friends very happy, he was always positive and encouraged his friends. He told them that he loved them and missed them so dearly.

William had a room in his house. It was very special to him that he spent most of his time in it.

His family were always puzzled when they saw William enter the room in the morning and won't come out until evening. Whenever he came out, he locked it and hid the key.

When his friends came to visit William, he would talk to them and later go into his special room. This made his family and friends curious about what was behind the door. His family did everything they could to try and get inside the room so that they could see what was behind the room: breaking down the handle and using a hair pin. All that they tried and failed.

An unfortunate thing happened one day, William passed away in a terrible accident. Everyone that knew William was heart broken. Without wasting much time, his family declared that he was going to be buried in few days.

His family began preparing for the funeral, gathering all his belongings. In the process of going through his things, they found a key. They immediately fiqured that the key opened the door to William's special room that he spent most of his time in.

His family and some of William's close friends lined up to see what was behind the door. When it was opened, they discovered that the room was dark, there was no window to let in sunlight or air. Someone brought a torch and entered the room one after the other.

On the walls, they saw big sad stickers, the sad stickers were in black and white. This came as a shock to everyone because they knew William as a boy with a bright attitude.

In front them, there was long black table. On top of it, there was a big book. When it was opened and read, everyone was in tears.

This is what was written:

"My life is just like this room: dark and dusty. I find it difficult to keep everyone happy and encourage them while they don't know what I'm passing through. I have never had a conversation with my family or friends were I had to open up and tell them what miserly I'm passing through. I miss my friends but I don't know whether they miss me too, I love my friends but I don't know whether they love me too because they have never told me those words. It will be unfortunate when everyone will be seated at my funeral and tell my corpse that they love me, that they miss me, that I was a good person. I want to hear those words when I'm alive and not when I'm gone six feet under. I do not want to assume that they miss, treasure and love me because I'm dead I will never hear those words."

On the day of the funeral, everyone was in tears. No one gave a speech, they sat down in tears untill the end of the funeral.

From that day, his family and friends treasured people who were just like William. They told each other, "I love and miss you my friend, my son, my daughter, my wife" and "husband."
