Bathroom
Bathroom
I was bruised badly literally growling in pain. It was difficult to get past the incident. I had gone through a lot. It was too much to take. I was trying to wash off my bruises in the bathroom where the terrible incident took place. I had been brutally raped in the bathroom. I had been stripped naked in front of two men. One held my wrist and the other closed the bathroom door from behind. I knew those construction workers were big-time troublemakers from the time they arrived. I had noticed them watching me through the window. The construction site was right in front of my house.
Those dirty hands touched me, tortured me and I had nowhere to go. I was 14 then and all alone in my house. It still sends shivers down my spine whenever I sit down to narrate the story. Shikha was speaking to a news channel about an incident that took place 5 years ago. Since the incident, Shikha is no longer the naive teen. She has handled it all bravely. She was now fighting for justice from those men who wronged. She has been vocal about crimes against women, so she was invited to a program on the news channel. The host lauded her for her courage and the world saw how tough women could be even when wronged.
