Introduction

I am Padmini, friends call me Padhu.

After completing my education, I struggled a lot with my job. I learned that life was not easy.

Some of my relatives were well placed in society and were running a successful business, but none were ready to help me and my family when I sought help from others, all I faced was rejection and humiliation.

I used to wait in queue for more than four hours a day in the scorching sun, at times with no food.

I was technically sound but when I got into the job market, I came to know about the importance of soft skills. In every interview, I used to clears the technical rounds and fail in the HR interviews.

At one stage of life, I decided to do a Call Center, BPO, Nightshift data entry job as there was a lot of pressure on me. I was glad that I got an Interview call for Call Center job.

I know that I can't make a future with it, but I accepted it. I researched the company and made the efforts to speak in front of the mirror. After enough preparation, I attended the interview.

The interviewer came into the room after an hour of delay. The interviewer glanced through the resume.

Interviewer: Tell me about yourself.

I started well all of a sudden I became blank.

Interviewer: Stared at me and said don't waste my time. We don't want dumb people.

I was about to cry but kept my emotions in control.

I thanked him and left the place.

Back at home, I was crumbling on family pressure and responsibilities.

I analyzed what went wrong. I had attended almost 34 interviews and was bogged down because of my communications.

I put in a lot of effort in his communication, but one can't master it in a day.

I started watching movies with subtitles, started listening to the BBC news channels, moreover, I started speaking in front of the mirror and read out the papers aloud.

I used the technology, recorded my voice, regularly and listened to it by playing back.

As I chiseled myself, I got an opportunity in a small company as a trainee.

I was not from a computer science background but learned from library books and online courses.

Though the road towards the software field was a nightmare, my efforts got rewarded.

Day and Night, I worked hard to learn the technology, and Finally, I got a call from a leading software company.

I barely made the preparations but was able to clear the aptitude test and attended the HR round.

I was trembling with fear, but I realized that it was my last opportunity I gained control of his body language and spoke with confidence in his broken English.

Finally, I got an offer letter with a decent package in a dream company.

Today I am joining as a professor, with a lot of dreams; hope my young friends support me in this journey.

There was so much criticism from my parents when I chose my line of the subject, but I convinced them with a lot of effort, I am sure that I will make them proud one day!. There is no point in doing things, for which we don’t have a passion; maybe we’ll get a higher package with such choice, not happiness. At times we have to choose a carrier for the sake of personal issues, but we can pursue our passion if we have a will!

Laying the foundation of humanity.

After getting freedom of responsibility, I want to serve my country by armoring the youngsters hence I became a lecturer.

To achieve Gender-Equality, we need both women empowerment and men supporting, until now we have changed the way girl gets raised. There should be a change where boys should be raised, say the unsung characters of the woman warrior, the story of Pinocchio, the modified story of Cinderella where, instead of waiting for a prince, she starts studying and completes the school, gets job establishes her own kingdom and education and her thought gives her freedom and not the prince. Just narrate the story irrespective of gender, it’s a matter of 20 years, today's kids with better thoughts become better youngsters.

Narrate the biography of great leaders; get their thoughts in the children. Leaders may change but each of them has their own personality. No country can win the war even if they win it physically raise a generation with better children, better citizens, and better leaders. The above thoughts can be brought through the bedtime stories by the parents.

By conducting online competition on bedtime stories I addressed the gender gap issue, and many writers contributed to the cause. We sold them as an online version it served as the hub of the future.

History is already present, but we can redefine it by writing.

It is time to have an empathy education, where the assignment was given to the kid and the kid explored with their parents and grandparents where they understood the importance of gender and feel empathetic of the situation across the gender. It was about the awakening of kindness in them, which stopped someone from committing a crime against the kid.

If a wild beast can be controlled in the circus, why can't we achieve it with empathy?

The message got spread with the help of red cross, NSS as a street play, and novice artist in social media spread the thoughts as well and it brought a change in the society.

No matter many parents have realized the importance of education, but still, we can see the “chorus” around us. The main reason for this is poverty.

How can we motivate people to send “Chottus” to school?

One of the possible ways is to provide a small stipend, better than what their children get paid.

Children are creative; no matter they are from rich or poor families.

So I promoted and sold the various creative arts, such as painting, embroidery, sculptures, accessories designing, tattoo stickers, etc. which were designed by the children during their art sections we made money out of it and our group paid it as a stipend to the “Chorus”.

In the name of fashion we wear ornaments, and apparel, which are costly; sometimes we can't dispose of them but Fashion has evolved through the years, so is the poverty and gender gap.

A small change within happened and students through collaboration defined a better future for kids.

A fashion, made out of various nuts, used as an accessory for children and youngsters. Being a recyclable, the product they are environment-friendly as well the product served as time pass for hunger and avoided obesity as well.

The design brought back humanity in a world where selfishness prevailed.

The funds raised were used to adopt some schools that are nearby to the college, and students' social group team handled its management.

What we wear can not only define fashion, it can define the future of a country!”

Forming the team to success.

The agricultural fields got dried due to severe drought. Farmers were committing suicide due to the lack of yields and debts. The schools were there in the village, but due to lack of maintenance, the school buildings were falling apart, and kids stopped attending it.

I was concerned about the people, though I was from an Engineering background. I learned a lot from his friends and college mates from other departments. I learned about drip irrigation that was useful for areas suffering from droughts and started exploring on others.

I formed a social group Change-Makers. Students from various backgrounds shared their knowledge to make a change to society. A challenge got posted, and students came up with a suggestion. The Engineers designed horizontal turbines, where the water levels were low in the river stream. They used it to generate electricity and a coating of cow dung in rooms acted as an insulator.

Bamboos with minute holes pinched throughout it got buried in various places in the village and sides of the road. It helped in retaining the groundwater during the heavy rainfall.

Gravels and broken rocks reduced the evaporation in summer and retained water. They used a set of plants and formed a moving purifier on the black waters, where the roots of the plants, fed on the contaminated water.

The botany and zoologist students worked mutually and discovered the insects that attack the crops and the predators for those insects. The predator insects reduced the cost and colony of a lot of chemical fertilizers.

They collaborated with a media channel, where the tips were given by the professors and scientists; from various organizations, it gave a chance, for the farmers to discuss their concern issues. The farmers from villages who won the drought successfully got a chance to share their experiences with others. With a small investment, they purchased a set of vacuum packaging machines. The farmers from villages who won the drought successfully got a chance to share their experiences with others. With a small investment, they purchased a set of vacuum packaging machines.

It helped the farmers to pack and sell the products to the market by increasing the shelf life to an extent.

The MBA students used an opportunity to market. They came up with a business plan and shared it with their Dean and retailer client.

A small market got set up within our college campus by partnering with the retailer, as part of the initiative by eliminating the middle brokers.

The College staff and students purchased the groceries and the vegetables from the market much below the market price. Part of the profit amount got used for the development of more such villages.

The group got the sponsors for the program, and students from B. ED conducted a Skype-based education. The recorded sessions from the alumni students and lectures helped the students to study at their own pace.

The humanity students narrated the importance of knowing their rights, by sharing the Saahas App designed for gender safety. Occasionally during their NSS camp on peace and security, by referring to the REF team’s freely available contents.

The student organization conducted the SmartPhone donation program. They donated working smartphones, they uploaded the course contents developed with the help of Media students produced content for the government syllabus with YouTube licensed videos.

We addressed the medical issues, by training volunteers from the village with the help of students, who were pursuing the nurse and MBBS. It subdued serious wounds with delayed medical attention, as the first aid saved much life.

With mechanical engineers working together, we designed a flexible van where we could change the seats into an ambulance, and the same was used for the transportation of vegetables as well.

I got a chance to share my thoughts in climate-grp, where various senior scientists played the role of critics though my ideas were theoretical it got collaborated with other nominations.

All our innovations received the patent. The group became popular. The students gained knowledge and started producing, entrepreneurs whereas our group kept contributing by keeping the innovations alive in colleges.

The village was renamed as the inventor’s village and we are still adopting such villages.

We get bogged down with the situations and people, but none has control over us!

A signature has a start and end with an impression of our movement, it's our identity, some remain in paper whereas others' signature leaves the impression in thoughts the country.

Our past doesn’t matter but we can change our present with the right choices.

It's me Padhu I won’t sign off, but I will replicate my identity through my works and words.

Age doesn't matter when collaboration and attitude are present by shedding ego.
