Adventures in Disneyland - 4

This story is the continuation of Adventures in Disneyland-3

7 months later....

1. Jessica

Jessica was dressed for hip hop practice, but she canceled it at the last moment. Now she was sitting on a bench, recalling memories, deseparately waiting for him. 

'You promised me.' She muttered to his photo. '7 months! Where are you?'

She was so engrossed in looking at the photo, she didn't notice someone standing in front of her.

'Excuse me?'

She looked up with watery eyes. 

Standing there was a very handsome boy, with jet black hair and bright green eyes. He looked as if he was meant to be a prince. Any girl would fall for him.

'Do I know you?' She asked.

'Hi! I am Jake.' He said.

He sat next to her, but she moved away. Admirers? No way. Her grip tightened around Joshua's photo.

'Who's that?' Jake asked.

'None of your business.' She said sternly.

'You are from Lakewood Academy's basketball team, right?' He asked.

'Yes.' She said.

He took her hand. Jessica froze. It felt like it was Joshua. His touch was the same- soft, gentle and reassuring.

She got away, gathered her stuff and stood up. 'What do you want?'

'Ok, I can't keep it longer.' He said, hugging her.

When she saw his face, it was Joshua.

'Wait....... what?' She asked, confused. 'One moment you were that boy....

'I am sorry.' He said. 'I doubted you.'

'You are back!' She squealed. 

'Yes. After 7 months.' He said.

'Where were you?' she asked.

'The portal wasn't opening.' He said. 'But, Miles is staying with me now. Here.'

'That's great!'

'We are thinking of having a sleepover.' He continued. 'Is it ok if we come at your home? Hazel's also coming.'

'Yes!' She said. 

They went to Jessica's house.

'So, you were taking a test, huh?' She asked.

'Yeah....

'You thought I would fall for any another boy?' She said, coming closer.

'Yeah, sorry.'

She rolled her eyes.

The doorbell rang. Jessica opened it. Hazel and Miley were standing there, grinning from ear to ear.

'Hi!' Jessica said.

'Hiii!' Miley said. 'Um, there was a girl outside the door. She told me to give this to you.'

She handed Jessica a parcel. It was wrapped in a red cloth.

'Ooh.' Jessica said. 'You guys make yourself comfortable. I'll see what is there in this parcel.'

Jessica went in her room and sat on her bed. She unwrapped the present. There was a mirror there. So weird. Who gives a mirror as a present?

She saw her reflection in the mirror.

Her own reflection was smirking at her. 'What say, Jessica?' It said. The voice was evil and deep.

Jessica dropped the mirror. It shattered as it fell on the floor.

'Oh, nothing, maybe I was.... imagining.' She said to herself as she walked out of the room.

But little did she knew about the piece of glass in her heart.....

2. Joshua

After a while, it was night. They had ordered pizzas.

Miley was cracking jokes, as usual. Joshua took a sip of water.

Jessica came out of the room, towards the table.

He almost spit the water.

This girl gets beautiful day by day, he thought.

Miley nudged him. 'I saw that, bro!'

He rolled his eyes.

*time skip*

3. Jessica

They all were sleeping in the living room. They had managed to make some space. The lights were out, and Jessica closed her eyes.

She saw herself in her dream.

'Where was Joshua for 7 months?' She was saying. 'Did he ditch you?'

'No!' Jessica said.

Her dream self smirked. 'It's time to be evil. I will be the ruler of the dark and the bad.'

What is going on with me!? Jessica thought.

'You can be a queen. You can get your parents back. Leave that blond boy. Join the Evil Queen.' She laughed maliciously.

Jessica woke up, and kept her hands on her head, clearly feeling agitated.

She was at the place where they had met the Evil Queen first. She saw her evil self- High heels, dressed in some kind of weird clothes and smirking.

'Come on, Jessica.' She said.

Then Jessica saw a vision of Joshua with some another girl.

'Wh-wha........

'You don't believe me, do you?' She said. 'Your biggest fears are coming true.'

'Nooooo.' She screamed.

She opened her eyes. She was safe, in her bed, but Joshua was staring at her with concern. 

'What happened?' He asked. 'You screamed.'

She hugged him. 'You will always be with me, won't you?'

'Yes.' He said. 'But what happened?'

'Nothing.' She lied. 'Nightmare.'

4. Joshua

After a while, they were all sitting on the sofa, talking and laughing. Jessica looked irritated, sad and angry. She wasn't smiling at all.

Joshua handed her a glass of water. It just slipped out of her hand and fell on the floor.

She just said, 'Ugh!' and went in her room.

'Something is wrong with her.' Miley said. 'I think you should talk to her.'

'Yes.' He agreed. He went to her room. She was sitting on her bed, her head in her hands.

He sat beside her. 'What's wrong?'

'I......

She stopped. Her eyes glinted- they looked like they were green for a sec.

She got up, picked up a photo of her and Joshua, and threw it on the floor. It shattered.

He kneeled down and picked up the pieces. 'This was our favourite photo, Jess! What's wrong with you?'

'I don't like you!' She said, her voice raising.

Joshua's heart stopped beating. 'Am I dreaming?'

'No, you are not.' She said. She had never been so rude before. 'I am dreading to tell you that I don't like you, and I never did! I just used you, because I had to keep going to Disneyland to figure out a way so that I can get my mother back.'

'You used me?' He asked in disbelief.

'Yes, silly.' She sneered. 'I don't need you anymore.'

Her words hit him directly in the heart. It sent shock waves that nearly ripped him apart. The girl he loved had used him. It wasn't true love.

He walked out of the room, her voice ringing in his ears.

5. Jessica

Jessica blinked. She couldn't remember why she had come in her bedroom, and why her favourite photo with Joshua was shattered to pieces.

She walked out of the room. Joshua was going to go out of her house.

'Hey, where are you going?' She asked.

He turned around. His eyes flashed with anger. 'You say it as if nothing happened.'

She blinked. 'What are you talking about?'

'Don't try to act all sweet.' He said. 'I don't want to be with you. Nothing is going to stop me, not even your beauty.'

'But what did I do?' She asked innocently.

'Look, I just need some time.' He said. 'I am hurt!'

He walked away.

'Wait!' She shouted. She ran behind him, but her ankle sprained. 'Ouch!'

She couldn't find where he was, so she started looking here and there. After a while, she bumped into him.

Before he could go, she hugged him.

'Are you trying to make me feel more sad?' He asked.

'I don't understand why you are hurt!' She said. 'Who told you that I don't like you?'

'You.' He said. 'Yes, you told me. I need some time. Leave me alone!'

She tried to run behind him again, but something stopped her. Joshua's air power.

'Joshua, listen to me!' She shouted, but he was gone.

After a while, Hazel and Miley also came, but they walked past Jessica as if she wasn't there.

'Wait!' She shouted.

Miley turned back. 'You said all those hurtful things to my brother? And he is more angry, because you are not confessing!'

'What to confess if I didn't do anything!' She said.

They walked away.

'Please, stop!' She said, tears in her eyes.

Adeline came there too. She pops out of nowhere when things like these happen.

'Oh, Jessie, you broke up?' She said with false sympathy. 'So sad.'

'Adeline, go away!'

'Yes, yes, I am going.' She sneered. 'Be prepared to see me with him from tomorrow.'

Jessica sat down on the nearest bench, crying.

When she opened her eyes, she was again at the place where she had met the evil queen. The queen was standing there, and beside her was a staff.

'Now you believe me, right?' She said. 'They are not going to be with you. But I will always be.'

There was nothing positive in Jessica's mind. She was easy to conquer now. But for better effects, the queen had many plans. She snapped her fingers.

Jessica heard overlapping voices:

'Be prepared to see me with him from tomorrow......

'I don't want to be with you. Nothing is going to stop me, not even your beauty.......

'You said all those hurtful things to my brother?'

'I am hurt!'

The evil took over her. 

She bowed. 'Tell me what to do, evil queen.'

'Be the queen. You destroyed Maleficent and her daughter. Now you can take her place. Be the queen of mean, the queen of evil. Take the staff.'

Jessica took the staff and transformed. Her eyes were emotionless. Her hair was jet black. She was wearing Maleficent's black robes, dark red lipstick and black heels.

'I am ready to be the queen!'

6. Joshua

'I think I over reacted.' Joshua was saying. 'When we talked, her eyes glinted green. She wasn't the real Jessica, I guess. I am a fool!'

'I think someone is manipulating her.' Hazel said. 'We have to check if she is there or not.'

'Hazel's right.' Miley said. 'We all were angry at that time, so we said all those things to her. But I know Jessica would never say that.'

Joshua nodded. 'She also said she had a nightmare.'

They reached her house. The door was left open. They went inside.

'Jessica?' He called out.

No response.

They hurried to her bed room. She wasn't there.

'Look, here!' Hazel said.

They went to the other side of the bed. They saw shattered glass and the handle of a mirror.

'A mirror......

'Don't touch it.' Miley warned. 'It can be the mirror of the snow queen. If the mirror shatters and one of its pieces goes in your heart or eye, evil thoughts start coming to your mind.'

'This all happened because of me!' Joshua said. 'If I had understood what happened to her, I wouldn't have said all those bad things to her.'

'Is there any cure for it?' Hazel asked hopefully.

'I am not sure.' Miley said. 'Jessica was hurt because Joshua left her. So, I think the cure is Joshua himself.'

They all looked towards him, and he nodded. 'We have to go and stop her from becoming evil.'

The portal opened and they stepped in.

They were in the grasslands again, but there were knights in armour everywhere.

Joshua pulled out his sword and started attacking them. No one was going to stop him from reaching Jessica.

No matter how much they attacked, nothing happened to the knights.

'We can't fight forever!' Miley panted.

'Go away!' Hazel shouted.

The knights formed a line and walked away.

'What just happened now?' Joshua asked, dazed.

'Hazel just found her power.' Miley said. 'Controlling things.'

'This is so cool!' Hazel said.

They walked further. Suddenly, everything became dark and the evil queen came out of nowhere.

'It's over.' She said in a cold voice.

She snapped her fingers, and he saw Jessica- jet black her, Maleficent's robes.

'Leave her alone!' He shouted. 'What did you do?'

'She is going to be the Queen now.' She said. 'And you ain't coming in front of her.'

She disappeared, but three black flying figured came and lifted Joshua, Miley and Hazel.

'Leave us!' Miley shouted, struggling.

'No one is stopping me now.' Joshua muttered, closing his eyes. Strong wind blasted and attacked the black figures. They left them, and the three of them fell down.

'Come on, we have to hurry!' Joshua shouted.

7. Author P.O.V

Jessica was getting ready for the coronation. Joshua had to hurry up.

They came to the place. There was a black castle there, and it was filled with villians. There were no guards so they tried to get in, but they couldn't. Some kind of force kept them from. 

'No, I have to get in!' Joshua said, pushing against the force.

After a lot of struggling, he could get in. He didn't even wait for Hazel and Miley. He ran in the castle.

'I, hereby, present you the Queen of.......

'WAIT!' He shouted at the top of his voice.

All eyes turned towards him. Jessica was standing next to the throne.

'Kill him!' the evil queen said.

'Wait!' Jessica said in a cold voice. 'I shall kill him.'

She came closer and raised her staff.

'I love you!' He shouted.

Jessica froze.

The audience gasped.

'Don't listen to him!' The Evil Queen shrieked.

Joshua knew it was his only chance, so he kept talking. 'My love isn't fragile. I can't live without you.'

The staff fell down from her hands.

He took her hands. 'Please don't leave me.' He sobbed.

When he looked up, she was back, with her warm brown eyes, no lipstick, no high heels and no crazy clothes.

She hugged him. 'You saved me!'

'Noooo!' The evil queen screamed.

Many black figures started circling around Jessica and Joshua.

But a shield of air and water shielded them, and they walked out of the castle ignoring others. They just kept staring at each other.

Once they were out of the castle, they joined Hazel and Miley and went back to the grasslands.

Hazel and Miley decided to leave them alone. Jessica took a sip of water, and stared down at the grass. She didn't have the nerve to look in his eyes.

'What happened?' He asked.

'I am not a good friend, am I?' She asked, still staring down.

'It isn't your fault.' He said, placing a hand on her cheek.

She got away. 'I become evil, and I was... almost going to kill you. Think twice before deciding you love me.'

He chuckled. 'Something evil manipulates you, and you think I am getting away from you so easily?'

She turned back and hugged him.

The portal opened, and all of them went back to their home, both happy and stunned by what had happened.
