Acknowledging People Who Inspired Me
Acknowledging People Who Inspired Me
When I was a child my mother was my Inspiration. Since she was uneducated and a village-based women, married to a Bengaluru city person. Bengaluru being one of the forward city in India. she faced several problems. So, she was very much bend upon educating me and saw that I got a white collared job.
I was living in a joined family of twenty-five members. As a child I was very active, so all my uncles used to admire and appreciate me which build a lot of confidence in me
I studied at RTC GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL (Now being St. Joseph’s convent ) at CLEVELAN TOWN, EAST PART OF Bengaluru. In my schoolings when I was in the tenth standard as a teenager was not serious about my studies, that time a very strict teacher called my mother and along with her she advised me life’s seriousness and the importance of education
While in college I was simultaneously learning typing in a typing institute, which was in my neighborhood by name Thomas Institute of Typing, Frazer Town, Bengaluru. Since the owner of the institution was watching every house movement of mine he had low feeling and used discourage me, so had no other choice I had changed the typing institution to that of Rajan’s which was also in the other part of Frazer town. After my college with B’com degree in hand I was going to typing institution, instantly the principal of the Institution Mr. Rajan offered me Typing Instructor post for the evening session. I was surprised at it, since I had not even completed my senior typing. After three months are so he even assigned me morning batch also.
In 1986 I completed my degree and was keen in obtaining a job. One school teacher of our locality where I reside by name Madam Nalini gave my mother copy of an ad advertised in Deccan Herald news paper, by the Vijaya college Basavangudi Bengaluru which comes under The BHS Higher Education society Jayanagar Bengaluru regarding the appointment of First Division Clerk a government-aided post. I had applied for the same. Out of 101 contestant for a single post I was selected. I got the job. At last, my mothers wish was fulfilled and I had the satisfaction of earning my livelihood.
But after joining the job I started experiencing the bitterness of the working atmosphere. For a long thirteen years, I had faced indifference attitude and ill-treatment harassments of the people and the environment. I had to face caste and women challenges and youth problem. In all those tuff times I had a God brother Dr. R K Chandranath a Botany professor came to my rescue and gave moral support to me even today though he is retired his support is there for me. With no expectation he only blessed me. He used to built confidence in me by saying Today your suffering, one day the other day you will be the leader here. Everywhere there is politics, where can you go be patience. He had made me understand the outside world situations and was continuously advising me with these words for thirteen long years until I was promoted as Superintendent I 1998. As per his words, I became a leader.
Even as a leader I had to face many challenges, since the earlier people had kept in dark in the administration work. The college management secretary professor B.V Narayanrao came to my rescue. He had provided me with all requirements for executing my work. And also the President Dr. N. Sundarajan had all patted me and build confidence in me. I toiled hard to get success in Administration.
Along with these my internal colleagues in the office one madam BP Vasanth my friend and C. Kanthraj they were my backbone to be relied in the office.
Government officials, Vice chancellor Dr. Thimmegowda who had visited my office which was a pride issue and also UGC NAAC teams appreciation all became encouragement in my professional life. Their attention towards me had boosted my inspirations. Now I am one of the recognized person at my work spot which is not a simple issue.
During my work I was supposed to interact with many people. right from Professors to that of a scavenger. Management, Government officials University people etc., Some of my professor used to indulge with friendly conversion with me. Dr. M Surya Prasad an Hindi professor and Dr. Manjunath Bhat an Sanskrit professor they used to say you have a good knowledge of speaking why don’t you put it up in writing. In the meantime I came to know Dr. Surya Prasad was a columnist in Hindu paper which arose me some feeling with jealousness that I too want to become one such columnist forgetting my lack of depth of literature knowledge publication in the paper and magazine. But these two persons boosted my inspiration for literature they became mentors for my scripts along with these my friend B.P.Vasanth and Dr. RK Chandranath all joined hands for my writings added to these Kannada Magazine Mangala opened space for publishing my articles. Thus I Proceeded in these field also. Even in this field some of the Kannada Sahithya organizations and people gave stages for my literature which had motivated my writing. Especially Madam Padmavathi Chandru used to call me over the phone and used to inform me about the opportunity and had even used to enroll my name for the programme. Since I was in work spot I couldn’t know the programmes she was helping me in this direction. I have published books, articles etc., Participated in National conferences/ competitions. To enter into story mirror group Madam Padmalatha had posted your site's information in our literature group, so today I am here with you.
