Reading is a wonderful hobby... Infact there is a saying "Paper is better than men". This must have been true... Men judge, comment and what not. The point is that a real friend can be seen in a book. You explore yourself through the process of reading a book.

My reading, apart from the academic standards has started when I was studying 5th standard. So, it was summer season, and I was sitting at home as it were summer holidays. I was a little girl back then who was a book-bee. Always I sat with books all around with some or the other work. Evening was the time when I watched cartoons. And back in those days my favorite was "Heidi". The glimpses of cartoon which started with a little girl swinging and that song in the beginning of the cartoon can't be forgotten. Her cute words, the way she plays as a naughty granddaughter, her friends everything made me go into a feel of awe!!!

May be at that age... As kids we used to relate ourselves as the main role in that particular cartoon. And Heidi in particular always took me into a different trance.

After a few days, when I woke up there was a small box kept on my table. It was covered with a royal blue velvet cloth and wrapped with a silk ribbon. As soon as I woke up, I went to that box and opened it. Inside that, an unexpected treasure was present. It was a book written "HEIDI" by Johanna Lousie Spyri. At that age looking at the name which Iam well aware of made me wonder struck. It is the best thing I've ever seen. My joy had no limits.

Only I know how many times I've read that book. Again, and again the whole summer holidays went by with that book. May be that one book is the reason which brought out the reader and writer in me too!!!
