Raju  a mechanic. Pinto a shopping mall cleaner , Bhasker the Doctor, Vimala a company representative. Nayana the home maker, Arun the security personnel . All the three of them are presently living a dignified life in the society. earlier all of them were rag pickers. Except Bhasker all of them were orphans. They were living in the slum near the city railway bridge. They lived in a hut . Bhasker' s mother was kind enough to give shelter to all of them. She treated them equally as if they were her own children. But feeding them all was very difficult. Since all of them were children, she disliked the very thought of sending them for begging.


Thus the children started rag picking, At the end of the day they used earn some money to push up the day. Bhasker's Mother Sumathi was a maid at the near by layout. The left over food of the employers house and the old clothes some how they were pulling days. But how long days will go on in the same cycle. There must be some change in every body's life. Likewise it happened in this seven members small family also. The downpour of heavy rains had washed off the slum huts. Even Bhasker's hut had also washed away. Some how they had not lost. Many forming a chain hand to hand some reached the near by building and took shelter under it sticking to one another with a fear of being lost in the running water.


Besides this there was no place as the entire slum dwellers were taking shelter in the same building as well as under the shop shops and so on. The very next day morning the media people and spread the news of the situation. The political leaders visited the spot and assured them temporary hostiles on the corporation grounds and soon they will be provided with the constructed floor building. until then they have to manage with the temporary arrangements made to them. Since the rainy season had put an halt to the rag picking the children were idle, any how the government and other donors were providing food.. The problem of hunger had solved


. Sumathi thought of sending all of them to free school. But Raju disliked going to school. He wanted to be a collie at the railway station. The stiff competition over there made him to move to the car garage. Bhasker and others was very keen to study. Sumathi with the help and guidance of her employers who were government employees and Rajus income some made the other children to study. In the mean time government had handed over their houses . So Bhasker's family started gaining confidence in their future. Pinto and Nayana were able to study upto tenth standard. Sumathi was over loaded with her work, so she was finding difficult to do her own house hold coarse.


As a result of it Nayana took the responsibility of looking after the house and as days went by, she to wanted to contribute something to the house , so she started preparing evening snacks and selling it. Pinto did not go back , he started doing available cleaner job at the mall. Though Arun was a degree holder couldn't find job that matched his qualification, Instead of wasting time in search of the job he started working as security supervisor . Bhasker and Vimala they had scored well , But the ambition of Bhasker becoming a doctor and Vimala becoming a Admin was out of their reach. But with the assurance of Raju, Sumathi and others took hand loans and made Bhasker and Vimala to reach their goals.


Once they found their places in their respective fields all their problems were solved. They started clearing all the loans and free from it. Now nobody recognize them as once they were rag pickers. The rain had washed away their complex problem and created a prospective achieved life. Thus they are all one living under one roof belonging to each other .
