The police barged into the room, and found Jacinta holding a blood dripping knife. A male corpse with multiple stab wounds was lying on the bed. She was in shock, seeing the police. They immediately arrested her, and filed a case.

The court found that the evidence, witnesses, the forensic report, and the police statement were undoubtedly proving Jacinta was guilty of the crime. It sentenced her to life imprisonment. She screamed, begged, and kept on saying she was innocent, but no one listened. She was taken to a high security prison. A week passed.

“Wakey, wakey darling.” A voice whispered to Jacinta, who was sleeping in that congested cell.

Jacinta got up quickly, and looked everywhere in that cell. Other inmates were sound asleep.

“Wow! You still remember my voice. I feel like I’m going to cry.” That voice said.

“How can you talk? You’re dead. I-I…” Jacinta stuttered in fear.

“You killed me? Yes bitch, you did. I loved you more than anything. I had given you everything. Still you went after another guy. You could have divorced me if you didn’t want to live with me anymore. But no, you wanted my wealth too. O, believe me, I was impressed with your plan to kill me. Beauty with a brain, eh? Everything went as you planned. But… but you forgot about one thing. I was well-known to hold grudges when I was alive. Did you think I’d simply disappear from your life after my death?” A ghostly man appeared a few feet away from her.

“So it was you, who framed me in the murder case of Robert.” Jacinta almost screamed in anger.

“Framed?! No, you did it. That’s what the police report says, right?” That ghost chuckled.

“I’LL KILL YOU, BASTARD!!!” She screamed. Some inmates woke up, and told her to shut up. A lady warden came, and scolded her.

“Yea, you can kill me as much as you want, if you can.” That ghost laughed, and continued.

“I think you must be wondering how you ended up in prison, right darling? It was simple. I possessed you, and planted some evidence against you. Remember Salim and Jamil, who said they were having an affair with you?”

Jacinta’s eyes widened in shock hearing those names. The ghost enjoyed looking at her expression.

“They weren’t lying. I established an affair between you and them, whenever I possessed you. They followed the schedule I set for messaging, and phone calls. I bought a new phone for that, and would hide it after every time I used it. You, sorry… I went to lodges with them. They weren’t that bad... you know what I mean.” The ghost paused, and looked at her.

She lowered her head in frustration for a few moments, and then glared at the ghost.

“Ooh! I’m shivering in fear.” It mocked her, and continued.

“I kept this going for the last three months. Enough evidence, and witnesses, right? Then, on one auspicious night, I possessed you, and called the police to your place. When they reached your home, I killed your dear Robert. I sealed your fate on that night. By the way, your facial expression was hilarious to watch then.” Laughing like a maniac, the ghost gave her a grim look.

“Enjoy your hell, darling. I’ll often visit to cheer you up. Bye for now.” The ghost winked, and disappeared into thin air.
