A LETTER TO MY DAD

Dearest Dad, 

       

           I'm doing well. Hope you're excellent too. I've been making an effort to jot this down for a long time now. Honestly, this pandemic has turned out to be a testing time for us. It's been months since we met. You living in KSA all by yourself proves how brave and courageous you can be! I’ve realised that your essence, your status, your personality, and your strong composure are incalculable to me. I’ve watched you evolve and become a better version of yourself. You never knew how to cook, but watching you now preparing those delicious curries all alone, I can say that it's definitely turned out to be a promising opportunity for you to discover what you couldn't. Certainly, you've emerged as an embodiment of fondness. 

     I wouldn’t even remotely be where I am today without you and your wisdom and your direction and your assistance. You are the bar from which I estimate the greatness of a man and the representation for which I will be choosing my husband. Thank you for demonstrating to me that I was worth more than I believed. Thank you for assuring me that I could work harder and execute the aspects I only desired. Thank you for making me listen to evergreen melodies of proficient artists like Kishore Kumar and Mohammed Rafi Sahab. Thank you for conquering my resentment for Mathematics with your love for it. It enlightened the 15-year-old me to encounter my uncertainties. Thank you for cracking all your incessant series of poor jokes and puns. I've inculcated an adequate sense of humor thanks to my Daddy Cool! Forever indebted to you for inspiring me to decide my own stream of education and to walk on the contrary direction of the crowd if need be. Your continual belief in my potential empowers me every single day. You have exhibited that no sacrifice is too big to make for your kids, and you have constantly protected us. You kept a roof over our heads, nutriment in our stomach, schooling at our hands, and more than we need to survive. I know you to be an incredible human being and more, even if no one else can see it.

    It is only because of you that I can now referee what is good or bad for me. All the remembrances are thickly entrenched within my heart. I hope as we get older, you find additional moments where you look at us and feel proud of not only what we have accomplished, but what your childrearing has done for us and how far your love and backing has propelled us. You make my world a decent place and, through the forthcoming years, I’ll keep these invaluable memories as adored souvenirs. These are the things that I will always recollect and pass onto my own children someday.

  We miss you every day. Not just dinners but the home isn't home without you. But I do acknowledge our daily video calls and the time we spend. Yearning you to be back home soon! Sending you as much love as the world can encompass!
