A Hero's Dilemma #1

Tall they stood like the towers of Babylon, stronger than iron they were and for this sole reason they were called ironwood trees. They would take a fortnight to yield for any old peasant. But our hero was no old peasant, he was a man of sheer, raw strength, two swings with his ax and they fell, face down. He was a man of great courage except when it came to her...for some reason her presence turns our hero's strong will to a pint of smoke. She wasn't a princess nor was she a beautiful maiden of grandeur, she was but a normal farmer girl ordinary in every aspect of life and like our hero, she was an orphan.                                        

  A hero whose courage turned to smoke just by the presence of this woman, how was that possible, what did he see in her. There was one quality about her..she never held her head down, no matter what the circumstance, no matter what position she was in she would never give up.She was the most courageous woman any man laid eyes upon. For this very reason, she was never adored by men. They saw her as one of them. Love was but a dream for the poor soul. Little did she know that one was waiting for her but lacked the courage.

It was not just about her character, you see our hero was never acknowledged a "hero".For one to be acknowledged one has to do a heroic deed, the problem was heroic things don't just come every day, and you can't go look for it like a lumberjack goes for wood. It was a dilemma every hero had to face..In his heart he always felt that he was not good enough for her, he wanted to prove himself to her or he would never muster up the courage to even talk to her.

And so our Hero awaits for an opportunity to prove himself and our maiden awaits to find love........
