Chapter 6

John was sitting in his bedroom and he heard someone's loud scream, he ran to the hall and asked his wife did you scream? Why why did you scream? Jency had a blank look on her face; "why would I scream John?" it's our neighbor Mrs Rahul; Mrs Rahul? Yes, Rahul would have come home drunk and that's enough for his wife to pick up a fight, however this happens everyday but why you got so worried today? I was lost with some thoughts and this sudden scream disturbed me said John; fine now have your dinner, she made John to sit and served food; John took 10 minutes to finish one roti, Jency kept looking at him; John got up from the chair saying I'm done. Jency understood John is disturbed with something so she didn't question him, instead she said fine John you go to bed I will put children to sleep and join you; without responding John got into bedroom.

The minute he entered his room he looked at the washroom, he was too scared still he slowly opened the door, "floor was dry" he hit the bed and closed his eyes to relax but his mind was only thinking about that scary incident. Jency came in saying have you slept John? In a shock John sat down screaming who who is that? Who is that? 'John it's me Jency," she sat beside him and he was sweating so very badly, wiping his sweat she asked "What's happening John?" I'm fine Jency said John, Jency said "no you are not"John wanted to tell Jency about the incident but he knew she would get scared so he managed to say work tension and nothing else; I know you are lying to me John, in these 7 years of our married life I have never seen you taking tension about work or even talking about office stuffs at home; John looked into Jency's eyes and she said I know you are hiding something from me and I even know there will be a valid reason when you are hiding it from me so I'm not gonna force you until you are comfortable to share with me; She kissed on his forehead and said I love you John, good night.

Jency slept and it took long time for John to sleep finally he fell asleep. John opened his eyes and it was already morning as always he quickly got ready, had his breakfast said bye to Jency and started to office from home, he saw that same old man again, he stopped his bike and asked should I drop you sir? Old man laughed again and said drop her first and then you can drop me, she is come to take your life, she will not leave you; John didn't wanted to waste his time talking to him any longer; he started his bike and while riding he adjusted the mirror and that's when he noticed a white image sitting behind, it started laughing aloud.. John screamed, lost his balance and fell on the road with his bike. It started choking him and said you can't live in this world any longer come with me, come with me, John kept screaming continuously "Jency switched on the light" and shook him calling by his name, John opened his eyes it was still dark he looked around Jency was beside him "he realised it was just a dream" He sat down and she asked what happened John? Any bad dream? John nodded his head to yes, she made him to drink water and asked him to say prayer close eyes and you will fall asleep, holding Jency's hand tight he slept.

Next day morning as soon as he opened his eyes he recollected that horrifying dream, he prayed to God for a good day. He got ready and Jency came with breakfast, John sat down to eat and she asked him about the dream he told her his dream; dreams are nothing but memories stored in our sub conscious mind so don't worry about anything said Jency; John gave a blank smile finished his breakfast and walked out saying bye to his wife.

The minute John started his bike, he slowly adjusted the mirror to check is someone behind him luckily he found none.. he felt relaxed and started his ride, on the way he checked for that old man too but didn't find him. John reached office his day didn't go on well because he kept thinking about those scary moments and horrifying dream, he hardly worked.

Next two days went the same way for John, Mr.Narayan his Manager came to him on Thursday evening and asked him out for a break, they went down for a smoke, Narayan started smoking (John doesn't have the habit of smoking); Mr.Narayan asked so John tell what's bothering you? Nothing I am fine said John, you are not I have been observing you since Monday, you seem to be completely lost, forget that i am your manager, we are good friends too so you can share with me but yes there is no force share with me only if you feel comfortable said Narayan.
