How do I describe you

How do I identify you

Have no words to express my views

An enigma buttonholed tight

How do I know you are, 

Who you outwardly appear

You so swiftly change gears

A mystery never cleared

How do I know you are real

How do I know you're true to your image

You may just be a mirage

A figment of my imagination 

I've chased you down in my dreams

I feel you course through my bloodstream 

I've tried to grapple with this belief

You exist, but you remain elusive 

I've given up this chase, this madness

I've accepted rejection, filled with sadness

I'll learn to live without your presence

But from the mind, you'll never be erased
