When You Turn Fifty

I am forty-nine,

will be fifty soon.

Now have to adjust

to life's old tune.

Young at heart

but body turning old;

in chilly winds,

I can catch a cold.

I like to sing,

want to enjoy life,

live like a king.

Children not at home,

they are studying abroad;

want to travel wild,

want to hit the road.

Working whole life,

no time for myself;

now new hobbies,

I want to develop.

Asked my wife,

"Let's go for a trek."

She said, "Go alone,

I have an aching back."

Sometimes in the night

when I am alone,

I switch off my TV,

and switch off my phone.

I think why not retire

from this hectic life?

Go for a pilgrimage

with my wife.

Let's live a life

of a spiritual kind.

Let's pray to God

and have a peace of mind
