New Year Resolution

As I woke up in the morning

My phone just started to ring.

My friend asked “how are you dear “

He was wishing me a happy new year.

Then I opened my Whatsapp

Taking sips from my teacup.

So many messages, can’t read them all

Deleting a few, the list was tall.

Messages were from all near and dear

My wife came in, said a happy new year.

I told her, let’s move to a place

Where we were alone and no mad race.

No tv, no phone, no messages, no rings

Only nature beautiful and the song it sings.

Let’s start the year in nature’s lap

No work, no worry, just take a nap.

Wife said “ bring bread from market fast

If you want to have breakfast “.

Started my scooter and went to fetch the bread

My plans for a new year got buried in my head.
