My Mother
My Mother
When I was a child
Mother, father, brothers, sisters, we all
Lived in a small house
Of two rooms, so small.
Mother used to wake up early
To make us ready for school
Made tiffins for us all
She was always very cool.
In the evening she took tuitions
Her schedule was so tight
She was busy all day
Just to make our future bright.
On my birthdays she read Ramayan
For full one day
And prayed to god
To keep me happy all the way.
When I went out for studies
She was very upset
She used to hug me and cry
After months when we met.
After my marriage with my son
She used to play and take care
Whenever he cried
She was always there.
Now I am fifty
And she is seventy nine
She daily prays to god
To keep me healthy and fine.
Time spent with my mom
I remember all the days
She is so very special
In so many ways.
My mother, your mother
All the mothers in the world
They are all so unique
That's what I have heard.
