When I Am Old
When I Am Old
When I am old and in my rocking chair
Things to think about and share
To remember with a smile
That all the while
When I thought I was rushing here and there
It was life passing me by
Giving me no time to question why
The meals prepared and eaten
The challenges faced and beaten
Of people and places
Of crowns and creases
Of those that never were
And that which never will be
Thank shall I for the limbs that work
And for the memories that perk
When I am old and in my rocking chair
