Afzal khan, self declared south

Emperor Adilshah’s mightiest army

General, pledged to destroy, great

Threat to neighboring states,

Founder of the empire for the people

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

Khan had to face strange odd

Predictions about the distant thunder

While busy preparing for the war,

Paid no heed, commanded start of the march

As the expedition started, to Khan’s

Great surprise his flag leading

Elephant suddenly collapsed, died instantly

But as a true warrior was not shaken

A bit, bad omen didn’t halt him

Khan prepared to face any hazard,

However, worried about the worst

Future of his sixty wives, wild

With jealousy, didn’t wish his

Wives be enjoyed by any other men

Committed heinous act of killing them

Sixty tombs in the graveyard cry,

“What a heinous Jealousy”
