Waiting
Waiting
Enchanted by the humid dusky evening
The white lilies in the temple pond
Exchanged soft fragrant whispers
The big fishes swimming lazily
Heard her deep sighs
And the faint thumping of her heart
They swam across to give her company
To nibble at her toes
While her fingers drew empty circles
On the steps
A string of fresh jasmine adorned her loose hair
Swaying in the cool breeze
The large ruby on her nose ring
Glistening in the fading light
Her light saree lifting in the wind
Revealing her lavish curves
Face bent down, she waited
In the stillness of her repose
Everything blurred into perpetuity
The temple, the pond, the mountains
And then she heard the barely audible whisper
Of a familiar name, an endearing name
That only her beloved knew
Time just then became timeless again
