Unfinished Coffee
Unfinished Coffee
In the cafe, I sipped my brew so fine,
our first encounter, a moment so divine.
your hazel eyes met mine, a captivating sign,
your chapped pink lips, a smile that did enchant.
Love's net you cast, a spell I couldn't undo.
But I failed to see, my view askew,
that your gaze passed me, at another in the queue,
someone who stole your heart before I knew.
I lingered, hopeful, in the fading light,
Dreams of us blossomed, oh so bright.
Yet shadows whispered, in the quiet night,
Of a love that wasn't meant to be mine.
Days turned to weeks, your absence grew,
In my heart, a void, a sorrow that I knew.
I watched from afar, as your love withdrew,
Leaving me with memories, bittersweet and true.
