Tribute To Dr. Narang

I am Dr. Pankaj Narang, you must have read my name in the newspapers,

It must have faded from your memory, as it's now almost three years,

Just to remind you, I was a victim of lynching by a mob,

Thinking of that day I am assured my loved ones still sob,

I was 40 years old at that time,

My life, my career were all at their prime, I was having the best days of my life,

With my 8 year old son and my beautiful beloved wife,

It was just a small argument that turned wild,

They bashed me with iron rods and bats in front of my child,

I was bleeding profusely when I was taken to the hospital,

And I was assured, I won't make it as the attack was lethal,

The faces of my wife and child was running through my mind, In my disappearing consciousness,

I was calculating what have I left for them behind,

My brutal death meant nothing to no one,

The politicians, the media and everyone who knew only had fun,

Made hashtags on social media, took out processions,

My child's future became dark, my wife went in depression,

Time went by, me and my family were forgotten,

But be aware, oh you people, next can be your turn,

This culture of mob lynching which has thrived,

One day like me, will not let anyone survive,

Rise up from your sleep, bring this to an end,

Cos the loss of sudden death of your loved one can never be mend.
