The side of the road

Broken dreams and thoughts of despair gather there

Disregarded and broken 

Words attracted by other words 

Loser, waste of life, not worth the bother 

Out of car windows they fly 

Like daemons they slither 

Conjuring and silently planning 

To my surprise 

They work together 

Good out of the ashes and rubble 

Proving it’s not rubbish

Wings will soar when dusted 

Instead of falling victim 

To past stereotypes 

Refusing to see what isn’t 

Beauty abounds and distracts

Proving again, all is not lost

Beauty is really in the eye of the beholder 

Like looking longer hoping better outcome 

Just wait and you’ll see

The side of the road

What was once garbage and forgotten 

Now a beautiful flower
