Death
Death
Look at that corpse, it was someone’s father,
Lying there is a mother of two.
Never did I see a view so gruesome,
Beings do end like this, I never knew.
We are in billions, living lives all different,
Each life entrapping a universe in itself.
A myriad of emotions and feelings all unique -
Products if we were, we’d never share a shelf.
Yet, there’s this thing that unites us like none,
No place we can hide, we’ve got no where to run.
We fear it all life, we don’t talk about it,
Choosing to forget, its with what our life’s surrounded.
To some it comes easy, really harsh to some,
While warriors take pride in it, cowards get numb.
One said, “oh c’mon! it is after all what life’s all about”.
Albeit it sounds coherent, can you say that out aloud?
Can you say that to a child with a lifeless mother on its lap?
Can you say that to a mother crying her heart out?
It comes with signs like stillness and ceasing of breath.
Yes, you guessed it right, we all call it death.
