The Unsung Praises of her!

The Unsung Praises of her!

Oh! The mother of all,

You've protected us- thy children,

From hazards known so long,

Love and care, on us you showered,

Be it for fulfilling our needs,

You gave us more than we asked for...

The air which we breath around,

Were the alms provided to us,

By the ever so peaceful nature,

The food we eat, be it fruits or animals,

Is all because of you, my mother,

We harm you and curse you,

But you take it with a smile,

Oh! the mother of all,

Why didn't you ask a 'why'?

You gave birth to all thy creatures,

Be it the worms or snakes that crawl on your surface,

Or be it the birds that flap away from you,

Be it the creatures that people see ugly,

Or be the creatures, they admire,

The beings which were born to co-exist,

Were they the ones, betrayed by their blood brothers?

Yo let them free from thy wrath,

For you were aware of their need and hunger.

You nurtured your children,

Just as a cow to a calf,

Oh! What an irony it is,

Comparing you with one, who from thou learnt,

Oh! The mother of all,

Forgive this child of yours,

To compare you, who is beyond comparison...

You give raise to a sap,

From the seedling sown in your heart,

You nurtured it with all you had,

Be it minerals, love or care,

You showered one with love and rain,

You watched them grow to an adult of full length,

You watched its children, the flowers wilt,

You saw it weakening and getting aged,

You felt the pain, they experienced,

Oh! The mother of all,

Today I vow to protect you with all my cost,

To give you back what you have lost,

A little affection is all you ask ,

To treat and heal your wounds left open apart,

To grow back your pride is all we hope for....
