THE SWINDLERS OF A COUNTRY

The greed for wealth.

The love for Comfort.

The love for power.

The love for popularity.

The love for themselves only.

The mind of selfishness.

The mind ethnic hate.

No love for the people of the country.

No care for the poor.

No care for Buddhists.

No respect for the environment.

No respect for lord Buddha's teachings.

No respect for the law and ethnic traditions,

Leads to swindling through cunning ways,

In a Political family in Sri Lanka the swindlers

Once had no recognition in the country.

Used politics as a weapon to swindle.

Along with ethnic discriminatory policy

And the war created by their ethnic policy.

As well as Singhala Buddhist propaganda.

To deceive the rural masses and

Amass wealth from arms imported to fight the war

And from projects for the country

They won votes through false propaganda.

They poisoned the minds of the majority community

Promising a prosperous secure country

By creating a terrorist easter Sunday attack

Which helped to win votes to gain power.

The amassed wealth invested in foreign countries

The swindling continued by appointing yes men

Forming a cabinet with many of their family members

More politicians joined hands to increase the wealth.

The paid coolies raised hands for money and power

To give absolute unquestionable power to the leader

The idiots who voted them to power

Who was intoxicated with ethnic hatred?

A formula used by the political family.

Started feeling the rise in the cost of living

Shortages of electricity essential food, medicine fuel.

Affecting education and the cost of living.

Added to the peril, came the Corona virus.

Affecting the tourist industry, the main revenue.

As well as the tea, farming and textile industries.

With no diverse options.

The Imports are more than exports

As the minsters are all unqualified

The planners were all political stooges

The country’s gold reserve started decreasing.

Drain as well in the dollar reserve

To pay back the loan to buy weapons and projects

Printing paper money with no backup reserve

Inflation went bigger and bigger like a balloon.

The end is nearing when the balloon bursts

The country turning no place on the world map.

The stubborn rulers are staying like a rock.

The people’s wave is reaching its height!

The rock may get blasted soon.

The next birth of the swindlers of the economy,

 Will be stray street dogs licking street food.

As what they sowed, they must reap.
