When it hurt either the ego

Or just for their own pride.

We read a lot, in books

Of the history that lies behind

When a group came together

Or it was a gift to reconcile.

There are stories to read

About Kings and their Kingdoms

Of the heirs or those who did supersede.

We talk about the man

Rightfully seated on the throne

There are always tales about him

Of kingdoms which he did own.

They grow or the fall

Depends on the King himself

We have even heard of queens

Who fought for their kingdom as well.
