The Quarantine Days

This is a real new story for all,

Neither of a picnic nor a visit to a brand new shopping mall,

The story is about these trivial yet beautiful days of the quarantine,

Of so many things that I had never before seen;

Of dad who could so well cook,

And mom who could surprisingly write a book,

Of uncle who was a champion at chess,

And even my sister's room always so neat and clean could at times be a mess;

Of days when it was threatening to keep out a single step,

Of days when mom turned out to be a so good chef,

When I had so much to learn,

And even the everyday household chores turned out to be fun;

Of days when doctors turned out to be Gods,

All time they were present even if their life was at cost,

And when staying back was the only option left,

Missing school was a mandatory part of the everyday routine kept;

When the schools were still on but all from home,

And the only time when I was allowed to spend such huge hours

In front of the laptop and mobile phones,

Everyday we had something new in advance,

No matter what the situation was,

Everybody was ready in advance;

But now at last I have just one thing to say,

Blessed I am to be in a country like India I stay ,

Where people believe in self and care for all,

Little do they behave selfish and stood against the pandemic like pillars so strong;

And at the end just one thing from the Almighty I pray!
