The Love of Our Love

The Love of Our Love

Within my womb, a tale began,
With silent prayers and hopeful plan,
The doctors feared he might not stay,
But love and faith lit up our way.

Each heartbeat thumped a sacred song,
To prove the worried world was wrong,
He came with cries, with eyes so bright,
Our morning star, our joy, our light.

As years went on, his fingers played
The tunes for which our hearts had prayed,
The choir echoed through the air,
A gift of grace beyond compare.

He dreamed of stars, of space so wide,
Then melodies he longed to guide,
We stood behind each choice he'd made,
With every note, our doubts would fade.

And time went on—he learned, he grew,
Each step he took, our spirits flew.
He held our pride, our hope, our name,
And never brought us grief or shame.

One day he came with bashful grace,
A timid smile upon his face,
Beside him stood a soul so dear,
With sparkled eyes and love sincere.

I wasn’t ready—hearts resist
When dreams are sealed with someone’s kiss,
But then I saw: she truly shone—
The love of our love, now full grown.

We spoke, we paused, we shared, we knew,
Her gentle ways, her spirit true.
And so we gave our hearts, our nod,
To love, to time, to will of God.

Now as they walk where we once led,
With hopes and blessings softly spread,
I smile and know, through all above,
My son has found his truest love.
