The flower pot

I planted a seedling

Waited for it to grow

They said it was a waste of time

But I explained it was slow

People did not do it because of the pain

However I knew it was definitely not going in vain

"This will pay off" I postulated

But looking at their expression, I knew they hated

The shoot sprouted out

I muttered it was the beginning, but others said I doubt

I continued to walk through the never ending road

But others failed, thinking that there is no way they could handle more

They didn't understand time was the utmost exigency

They were just willing to pay for something which was ready

All the plant needed was a little care

And the reward wouldn't be found anywhere

The stem stood tall and grew

It was sprinkled with a bud purely blue

People started gasping in aww

Because they hardly believed what they saw

I knew the day I waited for had arrived

Something for which I had strived

It finally bloomed with a flower rare

No one could say anything full of hatred

They wouldn't dare

To the moral, I advance

Be patient for the right chance

Because that was what the flower pot showed

Just give it time and it will continue to grow
