Lonely Memories
Lonely Memories
They all exclaimed I was lonely
But they were wrong because I beheld memories
Those days that brought sunny thoughts
Spread rays of hope or bring an emotional drought
Sitting near the bonfire with a cup of coffee
My heart melted, thinking about those cute childhood glee
When toffee was just a rupee away
Stuffing them under pillows, hoping they forever stay
Was ticking time off when checking the calendar
So many festivities I wondered
The black and white days found diwali more than enough
Making wholesome rangoli with colors vibrant in a cup
The kids dodged around to grab the remote in their hands
Sitting by the TV, they would barely understand
The truth that beauty lies in the parks was untold
They found looking at other people play was in a way close
Outside the window, stand 2 men
Quarreling over the same topic again and again
Now I understand they were meaningless fights
When I was young, arguments were a routine to be followed day and night
But now I understand they weren't right
The news blabbered about a new building built at a mangrove site
All this will definitely make the nature ignite
Oh, how will they understand the beauty of trees?
They rather prefer sitting near screens
Those days had a different melody
Had their own downsides but were still sweet!
The world has changed a lot, I see
But they are nothing compared to my memories...
