The Empty Promise!

The Empty Promise!

Born into this religion,

Where you’re made to know your place.

Brought up with this selfish ignorance,

That grades our human race.

Such bitterness and greed,

Which parade these lines devoid.

Where wealth and honour,

Are one mans birthright.

As another man struggles

Just to keep his pride.

With untold heartache and suffering,

For some it’s not to be,

They languish in hardship and squalor,

In an oppressed society,

As the rich and powerful leaders,

Take blindness for their sight.

While the preacher man gives blessings,

To the people on the street,

With his voice of reason he decrees,

The meek shall lead the way,

Inheriting all life's worldly goods

On the final judgement day
