I Hear The Ending Call!

I Hear The Ending Call!

Just take it one step at a time my friend

But remember you are walking backward

Never getting to where you want to go

Life is a journey straight into the past

How long will it last

Nobody knows for sure

That's why I humbly ask

But the answer never clearly appears

Stuck in a rut afraid of your fears

Tried to the greatest stodge

Plodding with hope in your heart

But you know cards

Are stacked heavily against you

That's why I'm making this call

When things are put there to get you down

You will fall without fail for certain

You try to run but it's too hard to walk

When everything is hidden

I would just like for everything to be nice

For once in my goddamn forsaken life

But this is just too much to ask for

That's why there's no hope for this cure

Drifting faster than the wind can cast you

Out to the great beyond

You try to hold on to reality

But you can't because reality is now long gone

So you linger and you suffer inside

Letting every little thing eat you up

While you try to hide

But you are out in the open naked and bare

Without salvation in pure desperation

You still grip tightly to your rotten life

Waiting for a reason to smile

But why fool yourself

You know who you are

And that is what frightens you

Because you've gone too far

Backward it seems

With no hope for the future

Just living each day as if it might be your last

But you don't enjoy it

Or even try to fight it

With a sad look in those eyes

I can hear the ending call
