The Elderly Way
The Elderly Way
Every being as a child
Has grown up observing elders
Happy when they were calm
Sad when scolded.
Forgetting to take the message
But remembering the hurt that we create.
We imitated and aspired to be them
Yet vowed ourselves not to behave
Hurting others or not being angry.
Forgetting to teach ourselves
How to be calm and composed.
Now, as elders, we behave
Just like the way we observed
Missing to be calm at times with our kids
Only to regret later
Building up the sadness.
The simple trick is
Release all the hurt
Tell ourselves what ought to be no matter what.
Concentrate on calmness and wellness
Slowly the anger subsides
Leaving us the option of living in happiness.
