The Darkness Within

That girl I had met...

She smiled as she said,

"I can break those chains away

You don't have to face the darkness"

How different she seemed

And yet so similar,

Her eyes and the fire gleaming within,

Why was it so familiar?

"The misery that you couldn't cage-

Let me give flight to that"

"The side of me that I had yet to gauge,

Was my heart always black?"

Pretending to be something,

While there was something else behind the curtain,

This girl who was the same as me-

The more I played,the more this game got exciting.

Love?What is love?

That eternal lie that makes others entitled to do as they please,

Then this hatred too-

As the flames of time keeps burning on, will turn to love gradually...

"Then this expression of hatred,

Is ultimately out of love you say?"

I closed my eyes for I did not want to see,

There was no way that cruel creature was the same as me.

In the cloak of night,

She moved in haste,

Before the morning light,

Could flood the gates.

"You know what you're doing-"

"No I don't"

For my eyes were shut-

And I kept them closed.

How often do we wish for death?

Isn't it normal to hate someone else?

The people who put you in a cage,

Isn't it normal to want to escape?

As the blindfold was snatched away,

I saw my beloved drenched in red,

As the ornate mirror stared back at me-

I finally recognized the desire burning within.

"The person I had refused to see,

My beloved burdened by our sins-"

As I leaned back on the window sill,

I was the only person who cared for me...

"So if I have accomplished all my desires,

Left with this heart corrupted by our very hands,

All that is left for us to do is to kill me"

"I cannot love without you by my side,

And if no one else will try to understand,

Let me hold you as we fall into the darkness within"
