Drops Of Love
Drops Of Love
On that sunny day in the park, I first saw him
He made my heart skip a beat
I held my breath
Leaned in close for a slight peck
It was perfect,
But he was a flickering light
He was never mine
It didn't last
He lied, I did not matter to him
It was all a joke
I was alone
On that rainy night,
Alone In that park
Where we first met
Waiting for him
But he wasn't there.
The raindrops fall on me
They embrace my bare soul,
It was dark
As dark as my insides
"I'll be there for you forever
You will never need to be afraid of loving again"
I laid my tired heart bare to him
Hoping he would see what he meant to me
Surrounded by the cold gloomy night
Rain comes pelting down
But it's not harsh
Rather it's like a soothing balm
Asking me to hold on
It cools my parched heart
My parched heart craved warmth, the warmth of his touch
But it was quenched instead by drops, of the cold miserable rain.
